There are some fire pits, such as the Breeo X Series and similar looking fire pits, that have a very low profile and burn at EXTREMELY high temperatures beneath the fire pit. These fire pits are a lower profile than our recommended 5 inches and we have also seen that the heat is much more intense than other fire pits. While the FireProof Pros fire pit mat still blocks much of the heat from these fire pits, we still did detect heat which could be felt under our mat and potentially damage the ground beneath. For this reason, we are not recommending our mat for these pits. For users that insist in using our mat to help protect from the heat from these fire pits, we are currently recommending to put at least another 6 inches of lift under the fire pit with pavers or brick, and potentially doubling up using 2 mats. We are currently testing other types of material and thicker versions with these styles of fire pits to see if we can find a better solution for customers.
